Cuckoo Birds probably look like normal, harmless birds but they are quite strange. When a cuckoo bird lays their eggs, they go searching for a nest with similar looking eggs and wait for the host of the nest to leave then carries their eggs to that nest and leaves. That is like putting up babies for adoption except they're not born yet and it was unexpected by the host of the nest. The reason why cuckoo birds give away their eggs, is because they want to avoid the time and effort of raising and feeding them and that allows them to lay more eggs. Sometimes a cuckoo bird will take their eggs to a Fairy Wren bird but this bird notices that something is odd, so instead of tossing out the egg in fear of tossing their own egg out, it just abandons the nest and will go somewhere else to start a new family. Most cuckoos live in forests but their habitats can differ. A cuckoos diet consists of caterpillars, an array of other insects, reptiles, and small rodents. East Asian Cuckoo species are amazingly smart. They have bright yellow patches of fur on their stomach and they jump around, giving the parents an illusion that makes them think that all of the birds have hatched from their eggs. That causes the parents to feed the East Asian Cuckoo continuously because it's thinking there's a lot of birds to feed. Once the Common Cuckoo has hatched from it's egg, it usually destroys the other eggs in the nest before they have even hatched or sometimes they can pick them up and throw them out. Some adult cuckoos would gather up and will destroy the nests and eggs of birds that have rejected cuckoo bird eggs. How strange is that?
