Ever watched the movie Finding Nemo? If yes then you will learn more about Nemo's species by reading this. All clownfish live in the tentacles of sea anemones. Clownfish live in small groups, the biggest clownfish is the breeding female and the second biggest clownfish is the male clownfish. The clownfish that are left over are non-breeding and they're job is to remain smaller than the breeding fish or they might get rejected by other clownfish, a non-breeding clownfish will not grow until a higher ranking clownfish disappears or dies from the group. When a clownfish hatches out of it's egg, they're born a non-breeding male, all clownfish have to ability to turn into a female. In this species, not only females can lay eggs but male clownfish can lay eggs too! How bizarre is that? How does it work? All male clownfish have cells in their bodies that can become ovaries if needed. If a female were to die from the small group, one of the male clownfish can change itself to a female but once you are a female, there's no going back. All clownfish have this thick, clear, mucus covering their body and some scientists believe that they use it to protect themselves from the harmful sting of the tentacles of the anemone they live in. It's pretty simple for a clownfish to find food, they just wait for the anemone to catch some food (mostly fish) and eat the leftovers. The presence of hierarchy keeps peace to the group so they can stay as a group, some scientists say that clownfish stay certain sizes to discourage conflict in the group.
